The appointment of composing legend Michael Giacchino was a very curious decision to most fans, but with the release of the initial clips of the project, it seems to have been a perfect choice.
The footage was all shown in black and white, which was a brilliant stylistic choice that already set the project apart from the world of superheroes that its set in.
But those stylistic choices didn’t end there, as Giacchino seems to be embracing a similar aesthetic to the classic monster films of an era gone by.
The effect that was attempted by Giacchino wasn’t a sure thing, however, as in the hands of some it may come across as cheesy or awkward, but it feels perfect in the hands of him.
It all works together to bring to life something that feels so tremendously new to the MCU, which will only work better to establish a character as unique as this.
There is no telling whether or not the Werewolf will return, but the beauty of the footage that we’ve seen is that it doesn’t matter, as the project feels like it will be a fantastic special regardless of its implications to the Marvel Universe.
