The Fantastic Four Casting Saga Continues
There were high hopes that fans would be one step closer to learning what is to come from the MCU debut of Marvel’s first family, but as D23 came and went, the Fantastic Four casting saga continues.
It may be impossible to overstate just how excited the Marvel fandom is for the MCU arrival of the Fantastic Four.

The film, at one point, was primed to kick off Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe before this summer’s San Diego Comic-Con event saw Marvel president Kevin Feige present a restructured release schedule.
Now it’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania that is set to kick off Phase Five, with Fantastic Four no longer a part of the Phase Five plans.

Instead, the debut of the biggest team in Marvel history won’t happen until Phase Six kicks off, and considering that we are still awaiting the final film of Phase Four, there are a lot of fans disappointed with just how long that will be.
But still, fans were ready to accept the wait, but were rabid for any kinds of updates as to how the project was coming together, but more importantly, who would be involved in bringing them to life.

That anticipation was a massive reason why D23 was so excited, as fans were hoping- following rumblings of a cast and crew in place- that we would know the cast for this incredibly exciting film
Yet, to the surprise of many, D23 came and went and the Fantastic Four casting saga continues, with no decision on a cast anywhere in sight, it is in the realm of possibility for us to not know who will be the MCU’s Fantastic Four until this time next year.

With all of the announcements that have dominated headlines for D23 and San Diego Comic-Con, our prediction is that the Fantastic Four cast will headline this news cycle in one year’s time.
At least we know that director Matt Shakman- who has officially been confirmed- will be hard at work in putting together that cast.
