Marvel Reportedly Focused on Finding the Cast of ‘Fantastic Four’
It may be the most important project for the MCU, as following the appointment of a director and writer, Marvel is reportedly focused on finding the perfect cast for Fantastic Four.
There are few characters or collectives that are able to match the longevity, relevance, and iconic status that has been rightfully earned by Marvel’s first family, the Fantastic Four.
Crafted with the idea of focusing on the intriguing family dynamics within a superhero team, there was a point in time when this team was the most popular Marvel entity and a time when it seemed that would be impossible to change.
Decades later, that is still the case, with the team remaining one of Marvel comics’ most important collectives, with the robust history still ensuring its special place in the hearts of so many Marvel fans.
That importance to the world of comics is now shifting to a very different place of importance, as the MCU is primed to bring in the beloved Marvel team to kick off its highly-anticipated Phase Six.
And with the film appointing a director in the form of Matt Shakman and two writers in form of Jeff Kaplan and Ian Fisher, Marvel is reportedly focused on finding the perfect cast for the Fantastic Four.
Deadline reported the news, stating, “At Disney’s D23 event this month, [Kevin] Feige confirmed [Matt] Shakman as director of the film but said that as all he had for the audience at the time, with no cast on board. Feige and Shakman now will focus on finding actors while the script is being written. ”
This assertion debunks a lot of rumors of a cast already being in place, with Feige only hesitant to share the news, as this update has now affirmed that it is Fiege and Shakman who will work in tandem to find the right team to bring the MCU into its next generation.
