‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Will Have Some of the “Most Brutal Action Marvel Has Ever Brought to the Screen”

The story of Daredevil is set to continue next year when Daredevil: Born Again lands on Disney+.

After a series of delays that included a creative overhaul, Marvel decided to tie the upcoming series into the original Netflix show.

In addition to bringing back a cast of familiar faces that includes Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Vincent D’onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Daredevil: Born Again will also lean into the gritty tone and violent nature of the original series.

Daredevil: Born Again Will be Action-Packed

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel’s head of streaming, television, and animation, teased that the upcoming series will break new ground in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

“I’ll tell you, some of the most brutal action we’ve ever brought to the screen is coming in Daredevil: Born Again, which isn’t a horror show, but really it packs a lot of power and there’s a lot of visceral action, to say the least,” he said.

The Series Was Overhauled Last Year

When Daredevil: Born Again was announced in 2022, it was expected to restart the franchise.

However, during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, Kevin Feige and other Marvel executives viewed the nine completed episodes of the show and judged that it needed to be overhauled.

Eventually, the decision was made to tie Born Again into the original Daredevil show. This necessitated the return of characters such as Karen and Foggy and led Marvel to deem the entire Defenders franchise canon.

When Will ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Premiere?

Marvel has not announced the official premiere date for Daredevil: Born Again. They did, however, share a first look at Cox’s titular hero in a recent video celebrating 85 years of Marvel.

At this point, all we know is that the series will debut next year. Hopefully, however, we hear more soon.
