Halle Berry Discusses Her Marvel Future
Leading up to the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, many fans felt certain that Halle Berry would reprise her iconic role as Storm in the multiversal adventure.
With the Deadpool team promising tons of cameo’s from the Fox X-Men movies, Berry’s name was frequently bandied about as one of the most likely actors to return.
When Deadpool & Wolverine finally hit theaters last July, however, Berry was nowhere to be found. While Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and director Shawn Levy did bring back many familiar faces, Storm was not among them.
Berry Was Never Asked to Return
In a subsequent interview with ComicBook, Berry revealed that Reynold’s wife, Blake Lively, asked her about appearing in the film. However, nothing ever materialized.
“Blake [Lively] asked me one time, I ran into her at a Marc Jacobs fashion show, and she said, ‘Would you ever be in my husband’s movie as Storm?’ I said, ‘Yeah, if he asked me,’ but he never asked me,” she explained.
During a recent conversation with ComicBookMovie.com’s Josh Wilding, Berry was asked if she would be open to playing Storm again.
“Perhaps you never know. We’ll find out, fingers crossed,” she said.
How Storm Could Come Back
Berry’s comments are consistent with what she has repeatedly said of late. While her return in Deadpool & Wolverine never came together, the door may not be completely closed yet.
With both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars set to bring the Marvel multiverse together, there still could be an opportunity for her to make her long-awaited comeback.
Hopefully, then, we will see Berry play Storm again.
