Spider-Man 3 Title Leaked?

A new rumor has surfaced that the title of Spider-Man 3 has leaked!

We know that the upcoming film will take place after the catastrophic events of Far From Home. The previous film, also starring Tom Holland as Spider-Man, was titled Homecoming. If the rumor is accurate, Marvel and Sony will keep to the “Home” theme, thereby naming the third film Spider-Man: Homesick.

This rumor has yet to be confirmed. Only time will tell if Disney/Sony will confirm or deny the alleged title leak.

However, both Esquire and Maxim Magazine have both used the title Spider-Man: Homesick when referring to the film in articles. Since these are both major publications, the references have added fuel to the proverbial fire.

So what will happen next in the life of Peter Parker? In a post-credits scene, Far From Home left off with Mysterio and J. Jonah Jameson exposing the hero’s true identity to the world. Not only that, Peter Parker was framed for Mysterio’s death. Does the title Homesick insinuate he has fled home to escape legal and other consequences?

When Will Filming Begin?

All fans can do now is speculate. The third installment of Spider-Man was supposed to begin this summer, but production shut down due to the pandemic.

Tom Holland is currently shooting the film Uncharted, the adaptation of a popular video game series. Once that is complete, he is expected to being filming Spider-Man 3.

As of now, the film is anticipated to be released on December 17, 2021.

What We Know

As MarvelBlog has previously reported, we know that Zendaya will return as MJ and J.K. Simmons will reprise his role as J. Jonah Jameson. Marisa Tomei is also expected to return as Aunt May.

A big question mark exists in place of the film’s main villain. That being said, rumors have been flying that it could be Kraven the Hunter, though there are a large number of possibilities from the Marvel Spider-Man comics.

This rumor originated from Murphy’s Multiverse, which has proven to be a reliable past source. That being said, we’ll have to wait and see if the third film will be named Spider-Man: Homesick.
