Marvel Comics GIANT-SIZE Captain America Tribute
Marvel Comics is celebrating the 80th anniversary of Captain America’s introduction to Earth-616 with the release of Captain America Tribute #1 in March 2021!
Steve Rogers first received the super-soldier serum in March 1941 in a comic book, Captain America Comics #1. Soon after the character’s introduction, a dictator-punching pop culture icon was born. Marvel will be honoring the character’s tremendous contribution to the comic book industry with a giant-sized special issue, Captain America Tribute #1, coming to local comic book shops and digital retailers in March 2021.

The giant-size special release will feature art by Marvel’s top creators.
For this special anniversary issue, Marvel’s top creators were asked to redraw and modernize Captain America’s first appearance in Captain America Comics #1 (1941) by Joe Simon (writer) and Jack Kirby (writer and penciler), and Al Liederman (inker). They were also asked to retell his genre-defining reintroduction to the Marvel Universe in Avengers #4 (1963) by Stan Lee (writer), Jack Kirby (penciler), and George Roussos (inker).

Marvel Comics’ Executive Editor Tom Brevoort said, “We packed this book full of top-flight artistic talent, all paying tribute to the King. So while you can just read these as stories, readers are definitely going to want to savor the experience, and see how each artist stacks up to the original work done by Jack Kirby.”
