Head Games: MARVEL’S M.O.D.O.K. Villain Cards!
Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K., the stop-motion animated series arriving on Hulu on May 21st, 2021, stars one of the Marvel Universe’s most notorious characters: M.O.D.O.K.!
However, it isn’t just the big-headed A.I.M. leader who will be appearing in the series. At the Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. WonderCon @ Home 2021 panel released on YouTube on Saturday, March 27th, 2021, series co-creator Jordan Blum unveiled some of the exciting villains who will be appearing on the show… using some incredible Villain Cards!
These cards were an obsession of mine. Had to do it. #MODOK pic.twitter.com/pqve6TGWuV

Feast your eyes on these amazing guest stars, True Believers!
Nathan Fillion as WONDER MAN
Back when we were wondering (see what I did there) about who the mysterious cameo in WandaVision might be, Marvel Blog postulated that Nathan Fillion might appear as Wonder Man. Well it turns out that we were right about the cameo and wrong about the show: Fillion will appear as Wonder Man in Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K.!
This is meta-casting that would make the residents of Westview blush, as Fillion was originally meant to appear in a cameo as Simon Williams (Wonder Man’s alternate identity) in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2. However, while the rumors have it that James Gunn did indeed film such a cameo, it did not appear in the finished version of the movie.
Fortunately, thanks to Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K., that injustice will be remedied!
Whoopi Goldberg as POUNDCAKES
Whoopi Goldberg will be appearing as Poundcakes, A.K.A. Marian Pouncy. In her Marvel Comics origin story, she was a human who was mutated by the Power Broker (a name you may just recognize from this week’s episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier).
As a lifelong Trekkie myself, seeing an appearance by a former cast member of Star Trek: The Next Generation – Goldberg played the enigmatic bartender Guinan on TNG – is outrageously exciting! And considering that series co-creator and star Patton Oswalt made a reference to the Enterprise in the first minutes of the WonderCon panel, we have to assume he feels the same way!
Bill Hader Pulls Double Duty (S.H.I.E.L.D.-style Head Games?)
And voice actor Bill Hader will be pulling double duty, appearing as The Leader, M.O.D.O.K.’s professional rival.
But he’ll also be appearing in a second role: Angar the Screamer. What’s especially exciting about this character is that, according to Blum’s Tweet, a song was written for Hader to perform as Angar on Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K.
Next Marvel card is Bill Hader as Angar the Screamer. Not only does he have a sonic scream but he's also a washed up 70s Southern rock star so of course we wrote an original song for Bill to sing. #MODOK pic.twitter.com/0wbbHnLxyU

While the loss of a possible duet between Angar and Dazzler (from the cancelled Hulu Dazzler & Tigra series) is devastating, at least we will have all ten episode of Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. to comfort us come May… and all evidence suggests that it is going to be one amazing entry in the Mighty Marvel Multiverse!
