Michael B. Jordan Is Still Waiting for Kevin Feige to Call
In an appearance on Jemelle Hill’s podcast, “Jemelle Hill is Unbothered,” Killmonger actor Michael B. Jordan spoke on his starring turn in Without Remorse, remaking The Thomas Crown Affair, and of course, whether or not Killmonger will return to the screen (a question Jordan gets asked a lot).
Return of Killmonger
Hill specifically asked Jordan about whether or not he would be reprising the role of Killmonger in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, a sequel to the 2018 movie starring the late Chadwick Boseman. Jordan stated his confidence that Ryan Coogler and Kevin Feige would figure out the best path forward, but he said that he has not been made privy to what their decisions might ultimately prove to be.
Hill acknowledged that Marvel Studios was serious about spoilers, but said she had to ask Jordan anyway (thanks for looking out for us Marvel fans, Hill).
One way or another, we’ll be seeing more of Killmonger in Marvel’s What If…? Apparently, an episode will show us what would have happened if Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) and Killmonger had joined forces – a fascinating question if ever we heard one, Marvel Blog True Believers!
Hey, Auntie
However, Hill was able to uncover one piece of incredible secret information from Jordan during his appearance on her podcast.
You probably remember the moment in the first Black Panther when Killmonger arrives in the Wakandan throne room and reveals his true identity, greeting Queen Ramonda with a, “Hey auntie.” As Jordan revealed on the podcast, this line was an ad-lib!
Wakanda Forever
The upcoming sequel to Black Panther, which will be called Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will arrive in theaters on July 8th, 2022. Do you think we’ll be seeing Killmonger again in live action when the second movie in the Black Panther series arrives? We’re waiting to hear from you!
