Cocoon (Vol. 1)
Fans first thought they saw the cocoon of Warlock appear in Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 1. This is due to the fact that there is a green, organic-looking cocoon among the belongings possessed by the Collector (Benicio del Toro) that now has a permanent home in the California Disney theme parks
Fans immediately began speculating that the green cocoon could be Warlock, considering the character’s connection to the Guardians narrative.
However, GotG writer and director James Gunn has gone on record to state that this is not Warlock’s cocoon.
If you want a closer look at this cocoon, it’s in the queue for Guardians of the Galaxy – MISSION BREAKOUT! at Disney California Adventure in Anaheim, California, right next to Cosmo the Space Dog.
Cocoon (Vol. 2)
The second movie in the Guardians trilogy also featured a cocoon, and this one seems to be Warlock’s.
In the mid-credits sequence for GotG 2, Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki) reveals a mechanical-looking cocoon. Apparently, this is the one that will be containing Warlock.
And that wasn’t the only Warlock Easter egg in GotG 2, some MCU fans spotted the magician’s specter in the background of one of the fight scenes at the beginning of the film!
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Poulter is best known for his work in the film Midsommar and the Netflix series Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. He has also appeared alongside Captain America actor Anthony Mackie in the movie, Detroit, and he starred in The Revenant. And recently, you can find him on the Amazon miniseries The Underground Railroad and on the Hulu limited series Dopesick.
Adam Warlock first appeared in Marvel Comics as Him in Fantastic Four #66-67 in 1967, and as Adam Warlock in Marvel Premiere #1 in 1972. What do you think of this actor’s casting as Warlock? Are you looking forward to seeing Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3 when it’s released in theaters? Do you really think it will be Drax’s final appearance?
