Marvel Must Haves: Welcomes the Guardians of the Multiverse!

In an article posted to the official Marvel Entertainment website on Friday, October 8th, 2021, the final batch of Marvel Must Haves for the first season of What If…?, the animated anthology series on Disney+, were revealed!

Spotlighting the final team assembled by the Watcher (Jeffrey Wright) in the season finale of this series, this round of Marvel Must Haves is all about the Guardians of the Multiverse! As you might expect, this article will include spoilers for the last episode of the series, so be sure and open a portal to another timeline if you haven’t seen it yet (and want to preserve the element of surprise)!

The Guardians of the Multiverse

The Guardians of the Mutiverse are a team assembled by the Watcher out of desperation, in order to fight back against Infinity Ultron (Ross Marquand, channeling the villainous robot in a more comic-accurate depiction of the character).

There are multiple t-shirts that bear the name of the team-up, along with images of the characters who are included in its ranks – even Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan), who ultimately betrays his fellow Guardians and attempts to claim the Infinity Stones for himself! – appears on the merchandise, even getting two versions of his own Funko Pop! as Infinity Killmonger (see below)!

Plus, there are Funko Pop! figures that depict many of the characters, including Vision Zola, Ice Giant Loki (Tom Hiddleston), and even Triumphant Gamora (Cynthia McWilliams).

Plus, check out some of the exclusive Funkos! My personal favorite is the Zola-style Ultron-Vision (look, there’s a lot going on here, but this figure is the culmination of a lot of MCU and Marvel Comics continuity, so it’s really something special – and it’s exclusive to Target). This character was played by Toby Jones in What If…?, reprising a role he’s been playing since Phase One of the MCU!
