Eternals: The 500 Year War #1
This episode is something of an introduction, introducing the main Eternals characters and establishing that we’re going to be learning about an especially long conflict between the Eternals and the Deviants, the 500 Year War. This story is started because a sword that bears a relationship to the war has been uncovered.
There is a reason that this series was released on Marvel Unlimited the same day that Eternals arrived for streaming on Disney+, Marvel Blog True Believers: the characterization of the main Eternals (2020) characters is absolutely present in this Infinity Comic.
In the first episode, this is most obvious in the character of Sprite. If you enjoyed this Eternal in the movie, you will especially want to be sure and check out this Infinity Comic! She also gets the chance to really use her powers well.
In addition to the familiar characters, this Infinity Comic also adopts the “golden circle” aesthetic that appeared throughout the movie.
Available on Marvel Unlimited Now
At the end of this episode, we get a transition to the next leg of the story – which makes sense, since we know that each of the episodes will be from a different creative team. But don’t worry: this team will get to return to close out this comic with episode seven. Did you get a chance to read Eternals: The 500 Year War #1, Marvel Blog True Believers?
