WandaVision Anniversary: Darcy Breaks the Internet
In a Tweet sent on Friday, January 14th, 2022, Kat Dennings, who plays the role of Doctor Darcy Lewis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, celebrated the one-year anniversary of the release of WandaVision on Disney+ by sending a picture of a costume malfunction she experienced while wearing the circus performer outfit that she was Hexed into in the seventh episode of the series, “Breaking the Fourth Wall.”

A History of Darcy

The character of Darcy first appeared way back in phase one, in Thor (2011). As the assistant of Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), she was one of the first Midgardians to meet Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in the Asgardian flesh!
She reprised the role in 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, but when Thor: Ragnarok was released in 2017, neither Foster nor Darcy appeared.

Fortunately, Darcy made her triumphant return to the MCU in WandaVision when it debuted just a little over a year ago.

Along with Randall Park’s Agent Woo, she stole the show as one of the good-hearted individuals working to figure out what was going on in Westview before it was too late. But when Wanda expanded the boundaries of the Hex in episode six, Darcy had been handcuffed to a vehicle by the malignant S.W.O.R.D. agents, and she ended up being “rewritten” into an escape artist!
In the season finale of WandaVision, Darcy was responsible for driving the ice cream truck that she and Vision (Paul Bettany) had been riding in directly into the vehicle that medium-sized bad Tyler Hayward (Josh Stamberg) had been in, trapping him and freeing Wanda to deal with Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn).

In interviews, Dennings has confirmed that she’s more than willing to return to the role of Dr. Darcy Lewis in future MCU projects. Let’s cross our fingers and hope we’ll see more of her soon!
