Marvel Celebrates Pride Month with Upcoming ‘Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1’
Marvel is celebrating the LGBTQ+ community with a spotlight on some of their most beloved characters this summer with their upcoming Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1
Throughout the pursuit of excellent and transcendent storytelling, there has always been an emphasis and focus on diversity and inclusion within the pages of Marvel Comics.

Celebrating and championing all walks of life, and ensuring that every reader can feel seen and heard; Marvel has continually channeled their efforts into a wide array of types of human beings explored throughout their many stories for the purpose of connection, understanding, and celebration.
This is carried out once again with this Junes Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1, a giant-sized one-shot that is a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community during Pride month!

As the Marvel announcement so brilliantly puts it, “Its second annual grand showcase for LGTBQI+ characters and creators. The one-shot will once again feature an impressive lineup of LGBTQI+ writers and artists from across the publishing industry including both creative superstars and emerging talents.”
The effort is another chance to highlight Marvel’s support of the LGBTQ+ community while celebrating the wide array of identities and experiences that make up the community as a whole.

In the first annual Marvel’s Voices: Pride, Steve Orlando, and Luciano Vecchio introduced a mutant named Somnus, who would go on to have a starring role in the ongoing X-Men series titled Marauders.
This year, in the second annual installment, New York Times bestselling author Charlie Jane Anders will continue that same trend and introduce a brand new character into the Marvel Universe!

Fantastic creative forces like Eisner winner Andrew Wheeler making his Marvel debut, or the returning Locus Award-winning Alyssa Wong both explore beloved characters like Hercules and the various member of the Young Avengers.
