‘Halo’ Actor Pablo Schreiber Confirms Conversations with Marvel About Wolverine
With the MCU debut of mutants jus ton the horizon, we now know that Halo star Pablo Schreiber has had conversations with Marvel about potentially playing the beloved, adamantium-clawed, X-Men.
There are few characters that have impacted the comic book medium as much as Wolverine; a character that has long persevered as one of the most beloved characters the genre has ever produced.
The X-Men as an entity has represented what is perhaps Marvel’s greatest stories, as they have embodied a lot of civil unrest that has existed in the real world since the dawn of their inception.
Wolverine, among those beloved characters and the team of mutants, has always been one of the most popular; with his violent and brash attitude coinciding with his heroism and loyalty that crafted a character that is truly timeless.
Hugh Jackman played for the character for well over a decade and did so in a way that clearly established him as one of the greatest live-action adaptations of all time; saying goodbye to the character in the incredibly well-received Logan.
With mutants likely on the horizon for the MCU in Marvel’s Phase Five, many fans assume that Marvel Studios, and MCU architect Kevin Feige, are hard at work seeking out the actors to reimagine many of these fantastic characters.
It appears as though Marvel has been in contact with one actor for one specific role, as Halo actor Pablo Schreiber has revealed that Marvel has been in contact with him over the iconic mutant.
First reported by ComicBook.com, Schreiber revealed on the Bingeworthy Podcast that, not only would he be open to joining the MCU, be he has had discussions with Marvel.
Schreber stated, “Yead. You know I’ve seen [fancast] things pop up a lot. I’ve had a bunch of discussions with Marvel at different points in my career. We’ve never been able to find the right thing at the right time, but I’d certainly be open to that.”
The actor continued, “But, yeah, it’s just staying open to the right path and I don’t know exactly what that is, but I’ll know it when I see it.”
That was when he was specially asked about Wolverine, to which Schreiber stated that, “we flirted with that one for a while.”
He continued, “That’d be fantastic, that would certainly be a dream casting. He’s actually my favorite hero, from a child he was always my favorite comic book, So I’ve had a long flirtation with that guy, so you know, obviously, that’d be a dream.”
Schreiber brings tremendous physicality and presence to his roles and would be the perfect choice to allow Marvel the blank canvas to reimagine the character with a fantastic actor taking the reigns that Jackman has put down.
