‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ Confirms Runtime Won’t be as Long as Previously Rumored
It appears as though fans won’t be in for the massive epic that many had assumed, as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness confirms its runtime won’t be as long as previously rumored.
Outside of the gargantuan Spider-Man: No Way Home, there may not have been an MCU film that can boast the same levels of anticipation as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The first MCU theatrical release since the record-breaking Spider-Man epic, this film will take viewers deeper into the Marve Multiverse than ever before, in a film that will truly be unlike anything that Marvel has attempted in the past.
Carrying over from the film in which Marvel’s resident sorcerer tampered with alternate realities, this film will likely explore the fallout from that, as Strange and characters like Wanda, Wong, and the debuting America Chavez seek to protect the main Marvel Universe from collapse.
Part of the incredibly anticipate of the film lies in the massive amount of speculation, with fans questioning just what could occur with this multiversal adventure; especially after Spider-Man: No Way Home’s toe-dipping into the vast multiverse led to three generations of Spider-Man characters.
It was this speculation that fueled the earlier reports that the upcoming sequel will be among the longest Marvel entries ever; that, however, doesn’t appear to be the case, as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness confirms runtime won’t be as long as previously rumored.
With previous reports listing it anywhere from 136 minutes to 148 minutes; Movieweb.com has reported that the official runtime is closer to 126 minutes, which is a massive discrepancy in times.
There will be many who assume that this shorter runtime could indicate that the film may not include the massive amounts of cameos and surprises than were originally anticipated, but it doesn’t necessarily speak to the elimination of that fact considering the film is only shorter by 20 minutes.
Either way, we cannot wait to see what is in store for the sequel, and how Doctor Strange in the MUltiverse of Madness alters the MCU moving forward.
