Marvel Name Change Leaves Hope for a Moon Knight Season 2
A recent development is potentially leaving the door open for the continuation of Marvel’s newest series, as a name change leaves hope for a Moon Knight season 2.
There are few Marvel projects that have struck a chord with MCU fans as quickly and as deeply as their newest Disney+ series.
Moon Knight has told the incredible story of Marc Spector, the former mercenary turned super-powered vigilante whose traumatic childhood has led to the development of dissociative identity disorder as a means to cope.
The character has been an instant hit with Marvel fans, as the series star Oscar Isaac has transcended the endless perceptions of who Moon Knight could be, and given the performance of a lifetime as he explores one of the MCU’s most interesting ad tragic characters.
Approaching its series finale this Wednesday, many fans are saddened that the character is set to reach its final conclusion in the coming days; although, that may no longer be the case.
ComicBook.com has recently reported a Marvel name change that leaves hope for a Moon Knight season 2, as the MCU could be giving their latest series the Loki treatment.
Taking to Twitter, the official Marvel Studios account posted subsequent tweets that share a trailer for the upcoming finale; the first one states that it will be the “series finale,” with the second tweet states that it will be the “season finale.”
If we are to assume that the latter tweet is the more accurate one, then it seems as though what is happening to Moon Knight is exactly what happened to Loki; with the series being considered a limited series until fan engagement pushed Marvel to consider developing a season 2.
Variety had first reported that Marvel planned an Awards campaign around Moon Knight in the limited series category, but could see a similar adjustment that occurred with Loki, where they instead entered it into the Drama categories so that they could continue the series for a second season.
We can only hope that this would be the case, as we cannot wait to see Oscar Isaac and the Moon Knight creative team continue the story of the character in a second season.
