Marvel Unveils The Multiverse Saga…So, What Can we Expect?
It was one of the biggest announcements of the massive return to the stage at Hall H, and it is something that is still shrouded in mystery; so as Marvel unveils The Multiverse Saga, what can we expect?
There is no denying or understating the importance of the San Diego Comic-Con to the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe; as the massive pop culture event had become a sort of tradition for the developing and ever-expanding Marvel Universe.
It housed some of the greatest moments that Marvel Studios have had with their fans, and with every passing year it only grew more and more in the hearts and minds of those who adored this universe the most; becoming something of folklore retrospectively.
After two years of the event being postponed due to the horrific effects of COVID-19, it finally returned, and with its return came Marvel Studios once again taking the stage at the lauded Hall H room, and giving fans some of the most exciting updates of this universe that is to come in the next couple of years.
There were trailers for upcoming projects like She/ Hulk and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and there was the redistribution of just what these various phases of films will look like in the near future; with all of them being established under the umbrella of one brand new banner.
Marvel introduced The Multiverse Saga, and with that announcement came the understanding that fans are currently in the midst of the MCU’s next great era within Phases 4, 5, and 6; following the first three phases that occurred under the banner of The Infinity Saga.
So, what can we expect? Well, for one thing, we can expect something that the MCU has been missing since the days of Thanos and the Infinity Saga; uniformity.
There was a sense that, regardless of what came out of the MCU in its first three phases, it was always building to something, and a massive and genre-defining occurrence was at the end of this worldbuilding; but with Thanos defeated, there was a sense of aimlessness from a lot of these projects.
That is now gone, as Kang, the Conqueror is not present to take the entire Marvel Universe by storm, and represent the greatest threat to the MCU Since the days of the genocidal rock collector- the Mad Titan Thanos- unleashed his fury on the galaxy.
The Multiverse Saga will, or should- in every way possible- attempt to challenge the Infinity Saga that preceded it, and it has all of its potentials to create a world in which the possibilities for the MCU are truly endless.
With the multiverse a reality, the question of what to expect out of the MCU’s next saga is simple; the unexpected.
