Chadwick Boseman Wins Posthumous Emmy For ‘What If…’
It was the final contribution of the legendary Marvel performer to the film franchise that he help to legitimize and put on the map, and it is being recognized at the biggest award show for television, as Chadwick Boseman has won a posthumous Emmy for his work on What If…?
There is a lot to be said of the unmeasurable impact that Chadwick Boseman has had on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it is very difficult to undermine or understate just how revolutionary that impact and importance had become over the course of his time with the Marvel.
Not only did Boseman bring to life what was to that point one of the most important and relevant superheroes in the modern comic book film genre, but he brought a celebratory lense for Black culture to the world of blockbuster filmmaking that hadn’t existed till that point.
More than just bringing this incredible character adaption to the world of film, however, Boseman also brought something immensely important from the film world to the Marvel Studios universe that had been absent up to that point; legitimacy.
Now, don’t get me wrong, there were plenty of incredibly successful and accomplished performers in the MCU that made it a phenomenal collection of talent, but with Boseman’s Black Panther, Marvel got their first Academy Award nomination for Best Picture, something that has clearly been a focus for the studio.
Now, despite his tragic passing, he is still bringing awards to his own- and the Marvel- ledge, as Chadwick Boseman has won a posthumous Emmy for his work on the MCU animated series, What If…? in what was his final Marvel performance.

What If…? allowed Boseman to play a very different version of the T’Challa character that he had brought to life in the Black Panther and Avengers films, with this version actually having swapped places with Peter Quill to become this multiverse Star-Lord.
Boseman was rewarded for his efforts with the Oustanding Character Voice-Over Performance, and it was well-deserved after the tremendous performance he put in.
