‘Echo’ Star Reveals the Series Focus on Family
It is among the most anticipated projects for the MCU’s Phase Five slate, as D23 presented the opportunity for Echo star, Alaqua Cox, to reveal the series’ focus on family.
A massive day for both the Marvel fandom and Marvel Studios, D23 has always presented the chance for huge reveals and announcements.
With so many projects seemingly on the ledger, and rumors dominating the news since the San Diego Comic-Con event, there is so much that fans were hoping to hear unveiled.
One of those projects is none other than Echo, which will follow the journey of the incredible character that became one of the biggest arrivals of Phase Four in the Disney+ series, Hawkeye.

With D23 presenting the chance for the series to be further explored, we now know a little bit more of what we can expect, as Echo star Alaqua Cox revealed the series focus on family.
As reported by ComicBook.com, Cox stated, “You will see, once she leaves New York, she’s faced with some issues. So she goes to Oklahoma, where she originally lives.”
Cox continued, “She will try to find the definition of family and community and what it means to her because eshes been along for so long. So she wants to try to get back involved with her family, and connect with her Indigenous roots as well.”
The story is shaping up to focus on her history and the incredible importance of the representation of her Indigenous past; with no actor being as perfect to bring that story to life as Cox.
Speaking of her own journey and gratitude, the actress added, “It’s crazy how much my life has already changed because I was a college dropout. I worked at a factory. I’m so excited to show people who I am and what I can do, what anybody can do.”
