‘Captain America: New World Order’ Will Feature Return of Tim Blake Nelson’s Sam Sterns
It was one of the most surprising developments of the D23 event, that Captain America: New World Order will feature the return of Tim Blake Nelson’s Sam Sterns.
There are few days that are as important to Marvel fans as the massive Disney Convention that takes place over a three-day weekend and features some of the biggest brands in the Disney Umbrella.
With companies like Lucasfilm, Pixar, Walt Disney Pictures, and Marvel all take the stage to uncover all they have in the works for the coming years.
Marvel may have led all of the various brands in discussing what they have in store, not only for their Disney+ series and theatrical releases but in their planned expansion for Disneyland’s Avengers Campus and in their various video games.
It was, however, the uncovering of all of the various streaming programs and films in store that got the most updates and attention during the event, with Kevin Feige speaking on just about every project on the slate for the upcoming Phase Five.
One of the most surprising developments from the announcements is that Captain America: New World Order will now feature the return of Tim Blake Nelson’s Sam Sterns.
Tim Blake Nelson is a name that may not mean much to MCU fans, but he is actually reprising a role he held long before the days of the Avengers and MCU that we know now.
Sam Sterns made his MCU debut in The Incredible Hulk surprisingly, as a character that was adapted from the comics but better known in the source material as The Leader.
The Leader is a well-known Hulk villain, as he has faced off against Banner several times in comic book history.
It will be interesting to see how Sterns factors into Sam Wilson’s first solo film as Captain America, but we can guess that it has something to do with his commitment to studying and implementing his work in gamma radiation.
