MCU’s Blade Reportedly Experiencing Big Delays
It was slated to be one of the biggest films of the MCU’s Phase Four, but with little progress made on its production, the MCU’s Blade is reportedly experiencing big delays.
In the Marvel pantheon of heroes and villains, there are few who have been as underrated throughout their history as the Daywalker himself, Blade.
A character of supernatural origin, Blade is both half vampire and half human, with all of the benefits of both parties, he has committed his life to fighting the forces of darkness that bred him, and protect the humankind that had raised him.
It is a story that has always caught the imagination of fans and has kept the hero as one of the most popular characters in Marvel’s arsenal, a fact that was proven when the character had one of the most successful, and earliest, comic book adaptions to live-action films.
The Wesley Snipes starring Blade series was one of Marvel’s most successful films and was one of the earliest signs that these characters could do well in that environment.
The reintroduction of that character to the Marvel cinematic Universe was something that was announced all the way back in 2019, and brought with it the tremendously talented Mahershala Ali; but with us several years removed, and little progress made, there seem to be some concerns.
Despite earlier reports that the film was set to begin its production in the fall months of this year, those dates are currently up in the air, as the MCU’s Blade is reportedly experiencing massive delays.
A recent Tweet from Post Cred Pod spoke about some of the rumors that have been circulating around the production, with Mahershala Ali being frustrated with the development of the film.
Mahershala Ali is reportedly “very frustrated with the process” of making #Blade 🧛🏿♂️
Reports indicate the script is just 90 pages long (avg. is ~128) and it features just two “lackluster” action scenes
Sources also say Kevin Feige is “spread too thin”

There have reportedly been problems with the script that is short and without much substance, and issues have been developing with Kevin Feige having so much on his plate at one time.
We shall see how this ends up, but we can only hope that the project will come to fruition and that these wonderfully talented individuals can bring to life this tremendous character in an honest way.
