Production on MCU’s Blade has Officially Halted
It was a tumultuous process that fans have been immensely curious about, but it seems like a delay is imminent, as production on MCU’s Blade has officially been halted.
There is no understating that the Daywalker is among the most recognizable and beloved Marvel heroes to ever appear within the pages of a Marvel comic.
He is a living vampire that has been the cornerstone of the publication’s journey into the world of the supernatural, and his incredibly cool stories have created a legion of fans who will always adore who Blade is, and what he means to the overarching Marvel Universe.
The character was also adored that he became the subject of his very own live-action film series in the 2000s that starred Wesley Snipes, and was one of the earliest success stories that comic book adaption ever had amidst a history of very porous production and end products.
It was that same adoration that led Marvel to announce the hero was coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe at 2019’s San Diego Comic-Con, and with us already two years away from that announcement, it doesn’t feel like much progress has been made on the film.
It turns out that this may be due to what has been a rare difficulty in the development of the project, which has now led to the production of the MCU’s Blade is officially halted.
Marvel Studios Pauses ‘Blade’ Movie Amid Search for New Director (Exclusive) https://t.co/MFtZL5dAVI

In a Tweet released by The Hollywood Reporter, it was stated that “Marvel Studios is going to take some extra time to sharpen its #Blade feature project.”
It continued, “In the work of parting ways with Director Bassim Tariq, the studio is pressing pause on the vampire adventure thriller that is to star Mahershala Ali.”
It seems Ali and his talented performance will still remain in the project, and it is at least beneficial that Marvel understands how important it is to get this character right before bringing him into the rapid pace of the MCU.
