There was no fanfare, no evolving trailers, and no character posters. However, it still ended up being one of the best projects that Marvel has developed all year.
Werewolf by Night was the first sign of the MCU’s Supernatural realm. More importantly, the very first of the special presentation format.

Speaking on the project, Kevin Fiege and Michael Giacchino talk about the Nostalgia of their Special Presentation.
Talking to Marvel, Giacchino’s stated “When Kevin and I were talking about this, both of us were massive fans of when you were a kid, and one of those special logos came up, and you could not wait [to watch].”
“If you were in the other room, and you heard that on television,” Added Giacchino, “you ran into the TV Room.”
Concurrently, Feige added, “Many of the networks had their own logos that indicated a special was about to begin, and we thought it would be fun to do an homage to those, Michael loved the idea and said he’d write the music.”
Equally important, Giacchino noted, “It’s an homage, and it’s a love letter to those things, when they used to take the time to say, hey, we’re giving you something different here.”
“This is something unique. It’s not something yore going to see every week,” Giacchino concluded, “like all the other programming on our network.”
