‘Agatha All Along’ Sticks the Landing — Is Season 2 in the Works?
Agatha All Along ended its bewitching story with a bang last week with a two-part Halloween finale.
Episode 8 of the hit Marvel streaming series, titled Follow Me My Friend/To Glory at the End, drew an impressive 4.6 million viewers in its first day of streaming, up 26% from the show’s premiere.
Like Loki before it, Agatha All Along has managed to hold and even grow its audience as the season progressed. Episode 9 of the series drew 3.9 million viewers on its first day of streaming, and that number is expected to grow.
Agatha Was Clearly a Success
While it is difficult to compare Agatha’s ratings to those of other Marvel series, as Disney largely cherry-picks what ratings it decides to make public, the series was clearly a success for Marvel.
Even if Agatha did not manage to reach the ratings heights of Loki, the series found an audience and created a buzz. More importantly, Agatha All Along was made with a fraction of the budget of Marvel’s other series.
The financial implications of the budget surely lowered the bar for what Disney would consider a success.
Is Season 2 Coming?
The big question surrounding Agatha All Along is whether or not the series has ended.
When asked by The Wrap if a second season was in the works, showrunner Jac Schaeffer remained coy.
“You know, it’s hard to speak about because I have a lot of awareness of what the handoffs are between different properties. So really, all I can say is I, as a fan, am so excited about this duo of Billy Maximoff and his spirit guide, Ghost Agatha. And I think that there’s a lot of opportunity there,” she said.
Given the success of Agatha All Along and the popularity of its titular character, it seems almost certain that Billy and Agatha’s story will continue in some form or fashion.
Whether that means Agatha All Along Season 2 is in the works, however, remains to be seen.
