Chadwick Boseman Mural Unveiled in Downtown Disney
Chadwick Boseman has been honored with a beautiful new mural unveiled yesterday in California’s Downtown Disney District.
Created by former Disney Imagineer Nikkloas Smith, the touching artwork depicts Boseman giving a Wakanda salute to a small child wearing a hospital gown and a “Black Panther” mask.
Honoring a Hero
Boseman, who famously played T’Challa/Black Panther in four Marvel films, passed away on August 28. He was 43 years old.
Following a quiet battle with colon cancer, the public has learned more about the charitable endeavors that were so important to him despite his own suffering. One such comittment was visiting with children at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The mural’s inscription, written by Smith, reads:
“As a former Disney Imagineer, I had the honor of working on a major children’s hospital initiative and Avengers Campus as my final two assignments. Seeing Chadwick’s heart for people in-person, and later discovering his courageous battle with cancer, I was inspired to create this tribute to honor his life and legacy. To us, he was and will always be T’Challa. Long Live The King.”

On Display for All
While Disneyland is not yet open due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Downtown Disney reopened in July with capacity restrictions. The magnificent new mural honoring Boseman’s life is on view for all visitors.
