America Chavez to Appear in Dr. Strange 2
The Sam Raimi-directed sequel to Doctor Strange will feature Xochitl Gomez in the role of America.
The Marvel Comics character America Chavez, A.K.A. Miss America, will be making her MCU debut in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. America will be played by Xochitl Gomez in the movie, which is scheduled for release on March 25th, 2022.
Who’s Miss America?
America was first introduced in Vengeance #1 (2011) by Joe Casey, Nick Dragotta, Brad Simpson, and Rus Wooton.
Next, the character came at readers with the force of a star-shaped punch in Young Avengers (2013) by Kieron Gillen, Jamie McKelvie, Mike Norton, Stephen Thompson, Kris Anka, and Matthew Wilson. Plus, there is a whole stage full of stageful of artists for #14 & #15’s two-issue finale.
Since then, America has appeared on the roster of several other ongoing Marvel Comics teams, including A-Force and the Ultimates.
And in 2017, she headlined her own solo series, America, with a first issue by Gabby Rivera, Joe Quinones, Jose Villarrubia, and Travis Lanham. Additionally, a bunch more great people worked on this series over its twelve issue run, including writer Kelly Thompson, artist Ramon Villallobos, and colorist Tamra Bonvillain.
Plus, fun fact, this comic was read by Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, who is referenced in the comic by the extra-dimensional Sotomayor University.

Can we look forward to a Young Avengers MCU movie? Perhaps Disney+ has the answers, considering Hailee Steinfeld is appearing as Kate Bishop, A.K.A. Hawkeye, in the upcoming Hawkeye series, and some of the trailers for the upcoming WandaVision series tease the appearance of Wanda’s twin children, suggesting the possibility that Billy Kaplan, A.K.A. Wiccan, may soon be introduced…And the Scarlet Witch herself, played by Elizabeth Olsen, will be appearing in Doctor Strange 2 along with America! Hm…
