REVIEW: In Heroes Reborn #7, We Enter the Endgame
It’s the final issue of the Heroes Reborn series, and the penultimate chapter in the Heroes Reborn event! Heroes Reborn #7 arrives with a main cover by Leinil Francis Yu and Sunny Gho, and you’ll want to pick this one up ASAP!
In a world without the Avengers, the Squadron Supreme acts under the authority of POTUS Phil Coulson to rule the universe with an iron fist! But what happens when Hyperion, Power Princess, Nighthawk, Dr. Spectrum, and Blur begin to suspect that their existence is threatened by Earth’s Mightiest Heroes?
“The World of No Return”
In the first story in Heroes Reborn #7, “The World of No Return” by Jason Aaron, Aaron Kuder, Dean White, and Cory Petit, the Squadron Supreme of America compares their notes on the Avengers.
This story builds on the many issues in the Heroes Reborn event so far, tying in plenty of the details we’ve seen over the course of the story for a fantastic overture as we head into the final issue (the excitingly-named Heroes Return #1).
While we have had a lot of fun seeing how this New-ish 52-ish story would play out, we are ready for our heroes, the Avengers, to return to the stage! This issue sets up the showdown for next week. Mark your calendar, Marvel Blog True Believers!
“The President’s Best Friend”
And in the second story of the issue, “The President’s Best Friend” by Aaron, Ed McGuinness, Mark Morales, Matthew Wilson, and Petit, we get a glimpse behind the Oval Office curtain to find out just what it is that this universe’s version of Coulson has been up to… and it isn’t good, Marvel Blog True Believers!
This story also gets a shout-out for including a cameo from J. Jonah Jameson. There’s no dimension where I don’t love that newspaper man!
Heroes Reborn #7
That’s the final issue of Heroes Reborn, but we still have one more chapter in the story: Heroes Return #1! Will you be heading to your local comic shop to pick up an issue of the conclusive issue? Let us know in the comment section!
