IMMINENT SPOOKENING: Marvel’s LCS Halloween Extravaganza
It may be July, but that means that the solicits for the comics arriving in late October have just been released, and you know what that means, Marvel Blog True Believers: Halloween is just around the corner! This year, you’ll be able to celebrate the Marvel way, thanks to the Marvel Halloween Comic Book Extravaganza!
The Marvel Halloween Comic Book Extravaganza
This special event will take place on October 27th, 2021, at participating comic shops. Marvel Blog’s advice: you can contact your local comic shop (LCS) and ask them if they’re taking part!
The idea is to help readers catch up with stories that they might have missed, using issues that are ideal entry points – no matter if your a fan of the character on the page or on the screen!
These include several first issues of characters that Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are about to be introduced to for the first time, including Hawkeye #1 (2016) by Kelly Thompson, Leonardo Romero, Jordie Bellaire, and Joe Sabino, with a main cover by Julian Totino Tedeso, as well as fan favorites from the Marvel/Sony Multiverse, like Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1 (2018) by Saladin Ahmed, Javier Garrón, David Curiel, and Cory Petit, with a main cover by Brian Stelfreeze.
There’s also Daredevil #28 by Chip Zdarsky, Marco Checchetto, Marcio Menyz, and Clayton Cowles, with a cover by Checchetto and Matthew Wilson. While this isn’t the first issue of its run, it is the one in which Elektra steps into the role of Daredevil to protect Hell’s Kitchen whilst Matt Murdock is incarcerated (and it’s part of the Eisner-nominated Daredevil run).
Each of these stories will give you a good jumping-on point to catch up with the narrative so far, and because both Hawkeye and Miles Morales: Spider-Man have plenty of additional issues available to read on the Marvel Unlimited app, you won’t have to wait too long to read more, if you so desire!
More Details to Come
According to the official press release from Marvel, more details about the October 27th event will be forthcoming over the course of the next few months. These details may include whether the four spotlighted issues will come with a discount or special variant covers.
