REVIEW: Illusory Romance in Hulkling & Wiccan Infinity Comic #3
In the third episode of Hulkling & Wiccan, the new ongoing Infinity Comics series on Marvel Unlimited by Josh Trujillo, Jodi Nishijima, Matt Milla, and Ariana Maher, things get even messier! How is that possible? Read on to find out, Marvel Blog True Believers!
“Possibilities” Part 3
My favorite part of this episode was when Wiccan asked one of his military advisors what the source of the universe-changing event might have been, and in no uncertain terms, the advisor answers, “Earth. It’s always Earth.”
This tickled me, because imagine living on another planet in the Marvel universe. You’d constantly be dealing with the fallout that comes from our little third rock from the sun! Even if you own an interdimensional restaurant. How annoying!
Plus, this episode delivers on just what we’ve been hoping for: Billy remembering his true love, Hulkling! While this doesn’t exactly solve all of the problems – how do you deal with the rest of this parallel timeline, including the two men who are the object of Hulkling and Wiccan’s respective romantic feelings? If this really is Agatha, she’s made a complete mess of things!
This four-episode story is 75% over, but it’s been a total blast so far. This issue continues to foreground incredible art and color (which takes advantage of the scrolling format) and awesome character moments from both Wiccan and Hulkling… and throughout it all, the impeccable lettering keeps you breezing through the exciting story.
While this Infinity Comics title will see its final entry released next week, let’s hope that this unstoppable creative team gets to reunite on another story soon… and hopefully another one involving Billy and Hulkling, to boot!
