D23 Announces ‘Thunderbolts’ Lineup
It was one of the biggest developments of the upcoming Marvel series, as D23 has announced the Thunderbolts lineup.
There were a few days that were as exciting to Marvel fans as the highly-anticipated D23 convention, which was a three-day long event that saw some of the biggest companies under the Disney umbrella speak to fans about the exciting things to come.
As always, Marvel was for stand center in these announcements, discussing everything from Video Games they’re developing, to an Avengers Campus expansion, to all of the upcoming Phase Five Disney+ series and theatrical releases on the ledge.
Of all that was discussed, there was nothing more exciting than the Thunderbolts lineup that was announced, as fans learned of just who will make up the very interesting MCU team.
It was announced at the massive Marvel Studios announcement panel, with one graphic being shown to guests and showcasing just who will be part of the team.
The first major development shown front and center was none other than Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, who was last seen hunting down Hawkeye in the characters Disney+ series.
She will likely be returning alongside those who sent her on the trail for Clint Barton, possibly being embraced as the new Black Widow of the MCU.
There was also Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes, who was last seen after the events of Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Already among the most popular Marvel heroes, Bucky’s return is a tad surprising considering he would rarely be considered a villain in the overarching MCU.
David Harbour’s Red Guardian was also shown, seemingly waving to onlookers as he is set to live out his superhero dreams.
Opposite Bucky was Wyatt Russell’s U.S. Agent who should add a very interesting dynamic considering his history with some of the team.
Rounding out the group was Olga Kurylenko’s Taskmaster from Black Widow, Hannah John-Kamen’s Ghost from Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Julia Louise-Dreyfus’ Contessa Valentine who was seen putting the team together throughout phase four.
