Anthony Mackie Wants ‘Captain America 4’ to Surpass One Iconic MCU Scene
With Sam Wilson set to be the centerpiece of his very own entry to the character’s saga, Anthony Mackie wants Captain America 4 to surpass one iconic MCU scene.
Throughout the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there have been a few characters that have formed an incredible connection with fans.
The Avengers have always sported a few heroes that have transcended just being part of the massive and interconnected film franchise, and instead, be some of the most beloved and adored movie characters in the current film landscape.
There is little denying that Captain America is one of those heroes, Chris Evan’s work over a decade with Marvel Studios created a bond that fans had with Steve Rogers that is unbreakable.
He was the moral compass of an Avengers team that had constantly fought to protect the earth from some of Marvel’s most devious enemies, and with Avengers: Endgame, he saw the fitting end to his life of service to the MCU.
Although Steve Rogers may have departed to a life retired from the fight, Captain America was a mantle that still had a job to do, and it was Rogers who picked the man who was perfect enough to do it.
Sam Wilson is primed to be the Captain America of the MCU for the foreseeable future, and with his own entrance to the saga currently in development, star Anthony Mackie wants Captain America 4 to surpass one iconic scene; the elevator scene from Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Speaking to E! News, Mackie stated, “I want a fight scene that rivals Chris Evans’ fight scene in the elevator [in 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier] when he fought like 10 dudes in the elevator.”
Mackie continued, “That was a bada** scene. The first time I saw that I was like, ‘That’s crazy.’ So I just want a fight scene that rivals that.”
