The MCU Will Reportedly Make Namor a Mutant
The hero’s awaited arrival is almost upon us, and with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever just two months away, we now have insight that the MCU will reportedly make Namor a mutant.
There are few films that mean as much to the legacy of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Black Panther and its subsequent franchise.
A film that helped to bring legitimacy to the MCU as an entity, the 2016 Marvel classic is still the only MCU film to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture; something that many Marvel films have tried and, ultimately, failed.
The films highly-anticipated sequel is almost upon us, with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever arriving in just two months, and showing the follow-up to that incredible story.
This movie will be immensely different, with Chadwick Boseman’s tragic death meaning that the filmmakers had to design the film around that horrible reality.
Although T’Challa will be no more in the film, there is one character set to appear that has a lot of fans excited, and there may be even more reason to be now, as we have news that the MCU will reportedly make Namor a mutant.
The reveal was made by Empire in their Black Panther: Wakanda Forever exclusive issue, where they stated, “One detail that is carrying over from the comics? According to [Tenoch] Huerta, his Mamor is indeed mutant.”
It’s a fact that has long been accepted about his existence in the Marvel comics universe, with Namor having long been viewed as the very first mutant, he will now be one of the MCU’s earliest, following Ms. Marvel’s reveal at the conclusion of her Disney+ series.
It will be incredibly exciting to see what the MCU does with Namor, but with this development now a part of the canon, it will be even more interesting to see how this factors into his journey.
