‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ is the Perfect Ending to Phase Four
With the restructured phases announced recently, and more information and footage of the newest MCU entry arriving, one thing is very certain; Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the perfect ending to Phase Four.
When Marvel Studios took the stage at San Diego Comic-Con, fans were very excited to hear what was in store for the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the coming years; with the event having been postponed for two years to that point.
Fans got exactly what they wanted, but what was perhaps one of the most surprising developments of that convention was the restructuring of a lot of the existing release slate that fans had expected; specifically, reordering the projects in Phase Four and Phase Five.
The moving of Fantastic Four to Phase Six- preceding the massively exciting Avengers films set to bookend that era of the MCU- and the adjustment of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania to be the project to kick off Phase Five, there was an excitement that Phase Four now had the perfect ending.
Because there is certainly a little argument to be made that the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the perfect ending for Phase Four.
In the highly anticipated follow-up to the 2016s Marvel epic, there seems to be setting up a massive shift in what the Marvel Universe is, and where it’s going.
The focal point of the trailers has seemingly been twofold; with Wakanda clearly being both a nation in mourning and a nation that is firmly at war.
The Marvel Universe is firmly entrenched in a new era, and nothing signifies that more so than the reality that the MCU will no longer sport one of its most beloved characters; the King of that Nation, T’Challa.
It is more than just poetic to see the Marvel Universe commit to starting a new day by saying goodbye to one of its most adored, and welcoming a brand new crop of heroes set to help carry the MCU into a new age, and a very packed Phase Five.
