The Correct Order to Watch Avengers Films
For the past 12 years, fans have eagerly awaited the release of new films to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). From the release of Iron Man in 2008, fans have obsessed over new installments in the series. We may have reached the theoretical end of the MCU, but the fun has just begun! Fans now have the correct order to watch Avengers films in to see key events play out in chronological order.
Captain America to Captain Marvel
From Steve Rogers saving the world from the evil Red Skull to Carol Danvers meeting Nick Fury when he still had two eyes, fans will enjoy watching the movies in order!
Without further ado, here is the chronological viewing order of the MCU movies:
- Captain America: The First Avenger (takes place during WWII, 1942-1943)
- Captain Marvel (takes place in 1995)
- Iron Man (takes place in 2010)
- Iron Man 2 (takes place in 2011)
- The Incredible Hulk (time unspecified, pre-Avengers, likely 2011)
- Thor (takes place six months before Avengers; fans have guessed 2011)
- The Avengers (takes place in 2012)
- Iron Man 3 (takes place six months after The Avengers in 2012)
- Thor: Dark World (post-Avengers, pre-Ultron, likely 2013)
- Captain America: Winter Soldier (post-Avengers, pre-Ultron, likely 2014)
- Guardians of the Galaxy (takes place in 2014)
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (after original Guardians of the Galaxy)
- Avengers: Age of Ultron (takes place in 2015)
- Ant-Man (takes place in 2015)
- Captain America: Civil War (post-Ultron, pre-Infinity War, likely 2016)
- Spider-Man: Homecoming (post-Civil War, pre-Infinity War, likely 2016)
- Doctor Strange (takes place 2016 – 2017)
- Black Panther (takes place in 2017)
- Thor: Ragnarok (post-Ultron, pre-Infinity War, likely 2017)
- Avengers: Infinity War (takes place in 2017)
- Ant-Man and The Wasp (ambiguous, but fits nicely between Infinity War and Endgame)
- Avengers: Endgame (starts in 2018, finishes in 2022)
- Spider-Man: Far From Home (post-Endgame, likely 2023)

Sorry, but you can NOT watch these movies as stated above. You HAVE to watch them in the order of their release date…the reason for this is very simple, at the end of each movie is a glimpse of the next movie. Don’t know why someone would ever have posted this blog, but they seriously screwed up.
To each their own. This is just one perspective. Watching them in order of release is another good option though!
I didn’t notice anything that threw the next movie off and I watched them in order so far. Just finishing up the last few. If you’re talking about waiting till the end of the credits, I never do that anyway.
