New Marvel Landmarks in Fortnite
Marvel heroes have invaded The Island in Fortnite Season 4 – coined Nexus War – and week two has revealed several exciting new Marvel-themed locations.
Season 4 brought with it an overhaul of Fortnite’s map. Now, several new Marvel Points of Interest (POI) have appeared, along with Tony Stark machines scattered throughout. Much to the surprise of players, several of these machines turned on this week, shooting colorful lights into the sky and making loud noises.
New Landmarks
Several new landmarks have shown up as well and each appears to correlate with one of Marvel’s heroes. All of the new landmarks are not named POI’s, so they are hard to find. As they are added, these sections of the map appear grayed out until other players discover them. The new locations are The Collection, Panthers Prowl, Ant Manor, and Trask Industries – each boasting a supply of chests, ammo cases and floor loot.
The Collection
Located on a snowy mountain east of Catty Corner is The Collection. This location features glass display cases filled with chests and ammo cases. It is based on The Collector’s hideout from Guardians of the Galaxy movies.
Panthers Prowl
Having appeared immediately after Chadwick Boseman’s death, Panther’s Prowl is a large panther statue many suspect was placed to honor Marvel’s Black Panther. Players can find the statue west of Misty Meadows. There, they will find its own ambient music and plenty of loot.
Ant Manor
Based on Marvel’s Ant-Man and his ability to increase or decrease in size, Ant Manor appears as an oversized dog house. It is complete with chew toys and an underground cave system. Inside the manor, which is located north-east of Holly Hedges, players will find floor loot and chests.
Trask Industries
The smallest Marvel landmark, Trask Industries is located at a semi-truck parked underneath a highway sign. Here, players may find some weapons and chests. Providing a nod to X-Men, Trask Industries is the mutant-hunting organization from the comics and films.
Nexus War Continues
Nexus War, the current Fortnite event, continues to thrill gamers – particularly those who are also Marvel fans. Players are working to protect the Fortnite planet from Galactus’ impending arrival and Thor has called in a group of Marvel heroes to help.
Many of the heroes in the game appear more commonly in Marvel comics than in films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Such heroes include She-Hulk, Dr. Doom and Silver Surfer. Other characters who are know from films, such as Storm, Wolverine, and Mystique, wear their comic book costumes.
As the weeks go on, more landmarks are sure to be added to Fortnite Nexus War and we’ll be providing plenty more updates along the way!
