What makes the story so compelling is the previously established obsession that the Symbiote of Sony’s universe seemed to have with Tom Holland’s Peter Parker; this partnered with the attributes that make Peter susceptible to the Symbiote’s pull.
With the source material traditional driving Peter Parker to be more aggressive, the MCU could alter the story to see the Symbiote take advantage of Peter’s loneliness; with his vulnerability being the key quality that would lead to the potential film’s main conflict.
