Doctor Strange 2 has “Massive” Body Count
In an article posted to The Direct on Thursday, January 14th, 2022, Russ Milheim reported that certain lucky viewers have already been treated to a sneak preview of the extremely anticipated upcoming sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness…. And according to reports, the movie has a “massive” body count. That’s right, Marvel Blog True Believers: there’s a chance that when Multiverse of Madness arrives in May 2022, there will be no survivors!
Massive Body Count
The upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will star Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Elizabeth Olsen as The Scarlet Witch, Benedict Wong as Sorcerer Supreme Wong, and Xochitil Gomez as America Chavez (see the fearsome foursome – possibly the “defenders” of our dimension, as it were – in action via the illustration on the movie’s set gift).
The movie will be directed by Evil Dead creator Sam Raimi (you’re starting to understand these “body count” rumors, aren’t you, Marvel Blog True Believers) and will feature music composed by his long-time collaborator, Danny Elfman (who also scored the first two-and-a-half Spider-Man movies).
And with rumors that actors like Bruce Campbell may be making an appearance, it’s no wonder that speculation concerning an extremely high body count is flourishing…
After all, a character based on a role originated by Campbell in the Evil Dead movies has actually appeared in the Marvel Zombies comics (and let’s just say that the body count in that story wasn’t exactly low).
No Survivors in Strange 2?
Marvel Comics have long utilized multiversal storytelling in order to callously kill off some of it’s most beloved characters… and considering that Raimi would literally pull scenes from comic books on the set of the original Spider-Man trilogy, there’s a good chance he’ll continue that practice here. Welcome to the multiverse, MCU fans… hope you survive the experience!
