‘Wonder Man’ Will Debut on Disney+ in December 2025 — Here’s What We Know
As Marvel turns the page on Agatha All Along and prepares to enter a new chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the studio released a First Look trailer today highlighting all of its shows coming to Disney+ in 2026.
In the one-and-a-half-minute teaser, we got a sneak peek at Daredevil: Born Again, Ironheart, Marvel Zombies, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and Eyes of Wakanda.
While it has long been known that both Daredevil: Born Again and Ironheart will debut next year, fans were also pleased to learn that Wonder Man will arrive on Disney+ in 2025.
The Long and Winding Journey of ‘Wonder Man’
The story of Wonder Man began In December 2022, when it was reported that Shang Chi and the Legend of the 10 Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton was developing a streaming series for Disney+ based on the story of Simon Williams (aka Wonder Man).
Over the next couple of months, fans learned that Ben Kingsley would be reprising his role as Trevor Slattery in the series, which is written by Andrew Guest.
Then, on October 31, 2022, Deadline reported that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II had best cast as the show’s titular hero.
Production Stalls
When production on Wonder Man began in April 2024, it looked like everything was moving ahead as scheduled. Then, in May 2024, it was reported that the series had to shut down due to the ongoing Hollywood strikes.
Production on Wonder Man ostensibly resumed in January 2024. However, many fans worried that the series would never see the light of day.
In the aftermath of the disaster that was Secret Invasion, Marvel publically announced that it was going to overhaul it made television. Then, Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that the studio had “quietly shelved” projects that it did not believe were working.
With updates on Wonder Man coming few and far between and Marvel in turmoil, it seemed like the series could be scrapped.
It’s Alive!
Thankfully, all that consternation was for naught. Not only was footage of Wonder Man featured in today’s Marvel teaser, but the studio also announced that the series will officially debut in December 2025.
In the new clip, Simon Williams (Abdul-Mateen II) is shown desperately trying to get a part in a movie. Later, the stuntman finds himself skidding down the road with Trevor Slattery.
Marvel boss Kevin Feige has previously described Wonder Man as “extremely different,” which could mean that Marvel has some surprises in store for fans.
