Hayley Atwell Is Returning as Captain Carter For ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

Hot on the heels of the news that Chris Evans will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for Avengers: Doomsday, Deadline reports that another star is also preparing to suit up again.

Joining Evans and Robert Downey Jr. in the next Avengers adventure will be Hayley Atwell, who is expected to reprise her role as Agent Carter in the film.

With the Marvel multiverse set to come together, Marvel is clearly pulling out all the stops for Avengers: Doomsday.

Marvel Has Long Sought to Bring Captain Carter Back

According to the Deadline report, Marvel had long planned on bringing Atwell back into the fold for a standalone Agent Carter movie. Over the past couple of years, however, Marvel has been unable to come up with a satisfactory story.

Now, Atwell will get the chance to continue her story alongside Evans in the next Avengers film.

Who Will Return For ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

While the exact cast of Avengers: Doomsday has not been officially announced, Kevin Feige previously revealed that members of Thunderbolts* and the Fantastic Four will appear in the film.

Subsequently, it has been confirmed that Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, and Downey’s Doctor Doom will appear in the film.

Now that Evans and Atwell are also in the fold, Avengers: Doomsday is looking like a star-studded affair.
