WandaVision Set to Debut in 2020!
There is some exciting news out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) today! WandaVision is set to make it’s debut on Disney+ before the end of the year!
Today, Disney announced several new Marvel titles that will premiere over the remainder of 2020, such as X2: X-Men United. Much to the surprise of many, WandaVision was included in the list, finally giving the series an air date.
Although a specific release date wasn’t mentioned, it is exciting to know that the series will definitely arrive this year!
As has been reported at MarvelBlog and many other news outlets, the coronavirus pandemic caused production shutdowns among many anticipated Marvel Studios series. Included in this list is not only WandaVision, but also Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki, to name a few.
Several projects have restarted filming at this point, with WandaVision leading the charge. Currently, it looks like the show will jump ahead of Falcon and become Marvel’s first live-action TV series.
The timing of WandaVision’s release renews the question of how Marvel’s upcoming projects are all tied together?
We know that Black Widow was supposed to debut in movie theaters last May, Falcon and the Winter Soldier was supposed to premiere on Disney+ in August and The Eternals was meant to premiere in theaters in November. This means three MCU titles were supposed to come out before WandaVision.
One thing is certain – WandaVision is connected to the Doctor Strange sequel, which is set to arrive in 2022. We know this because Elizabeth Olsen has been announced as a member of the cast.
We’ll have to wait and see how it all ties together. For now, we are thrilled to know that Marvel fans will get to enjoy WandaVision before the end of 2020!
